 | | Forburys Restaurant is a new French restaurant situated in the central square of a modern development opposite Forbury Garden in the centre of Reading. The restaurant has been created by Xavier LeBellego whose name has become associated with fine food and dining. Xavier has worked with the internationally famous Raymond Blanc, John Burton Race and Albert Roux before managing The Red House near Newbury where he received the coveted “Gastro Pub of the Year” title for two consecutive years.

Whole roast quail served with a peppercorn pikelet, cured bacon and alberfura sauce.
Chilled, spiced tomato consomme with a tian of Provencale vegetables and avocado pearls.
Seared queen scallops and black pudding with a warm carrot salad and elderberry beurre blanc.
Main Courses
Confit pave of salmon with a whitebait rosti, roasted carrots, pea puree and a spiced red wine jus.
Marinated chump of lamb with boudin noir, fondant and a tomato and tarragon jus.
Loin of venison with roast onions, girolles, fiddlehead ferns and a honey and basalmic jus.
Desserts
Caramelized strawberry sorbet shortbread with a minted compote and creme fraiche sauce.
Chestnut souffle with dark chocolate and raisin ice cream.
Iced white chocolate and griottine parfait with a mille-feuille of kirsch truffles.
